The Powers of Honey

Exploring Mother Nature's natural skin hero.

If I were stranded on a desert island and could only have one product it would be honey!

Honey can act as a cleanser, exfoliation, mask, zit treatment, and moisturizer, as well as bug bite treatment, cough syrup, allergy blocker, and more! It is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory. It treats blemishes, calms redness, hydrates dehydrated skin, encourages cellular turnover, heals wounds, calms eczema, and gives skin a dewy glow. It is truly mother nature's skin hero!

Mānuka Honey

Mānuka Honey has considerably higher levels of enzymes and antibacterial properties than found in other honey. The higher the MGO rating in Mānuka honey, the higher the level of antibacterial activity.

A few brands I like are Activist and Manuka Health.

You can use as a facial cleanser on it's own, or simply mix with your favorite cleansing oil. You can mix with some oat flour to make a gentle exfoliating mask. You can use to spot treat a pimple. You can use as an incredibly healing and hydrating lip treatment. It is especially great after too much sun exposure or for extremely chapped lips.

My favorite mask for a quick detox, hydration blast, massive calmer for inflammation, and overall glow booster is : 1 T. Manuka Honey + 5-8 shakes of Soothing Sandalwood Lotion, + 1 T. oat flour. Add a few sprays of your favorite mist or simply distilled water to create a spreadable paste. Leave on for about 30 minutes. Wet hands and gently massage to exfoliate the skin and then remove with a warm washcloth.
