NOURISH SKIN FROM THE INSIDE OUT

Ingredient

Why It Makes Your Skin Glow

Homemade Pickled Red Cabbage

Rich in vitamin C and anthocyanins to support collagen production and protect skin from oxidative stress. Fermented foods also nourish the gut microbiome, which is closely connected to healthy, glowing skin.

Sauerkraut

Packed with probiotics that support gut health, helping reduce inflammation and improve skin clarity from the inside out.

Avocado

Loaded with healthy monounsaturated fats and vitamin E to strengthen the skin barrier, improve hydration, and keep skin soft and supple.

Walnuts

One of the best plant sources of omega-3 fatty acids, helping calm inflammation, support the skin barrier, and maintain a healthy glow.

Dried Apricots

Rich in beta-carotene, which converts to vitamin A to support skin renewal and healthy cell turnover. They also provide antioxidants that help defend against environmental damage.

Hemp Seeds

A complete plant protein rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids to nourish skin, improve elasticity, and support collagen production.

Pumpkin Seeds

High in zinc, a key mineral for collagen production, wound healing, and healthy oil balance. They also provide vitamin E, magnesium, iron, and healthy fats to support strong, resilient, glowing skin.

Crispy Tofu (Potato Flour + Nutritional Yeast)

Provides complete plant protein for collagen formation, while nutritional yeast supplies B vitamins that support healthy skin cell renewal.

Crumbled Dried Seaweed

Rich in iodine, minerals, and antioxidants that support hydration, skin elasticity, and overall skin health.

Protein provides the amino acids your body uses to build collagen.

Healthy fats help strengthen the skin barrier so skin stays hydrated and resilient.

Colorful vegetables provide antioxidants that help defend collagen from daily environmental damage.

Fermented foods help nourish your gut microbiome, which often shows up in the health of your skin.

Minerals like zinc, magnesium, selenium, and iodine support healthy skin repair and renewal.

I don't measure; I simply toss everything into a bowl and mix. To prepare the pickled red cabbage, take a head of cabbage, chop it, and put it in a sealed bowl with 1 cup of apple cider vinegar and 1 cup of water. Allow the cabbage to sit overnight. It can be stored in the refrigerator for a few weeks.

A PERSONAL NOTE...

While I originally started making this bowl to eat for my skin, what surprised me was how much better I started feeling overall. I've struggled with bloating for quite a while. When I say "I struggled with bloating," I'm not referring to a slight bump. I mean I appeared as if I were 8 months pregnant, with a rock-hard, distended belly! In case you need a visual to see how bad it was here you go. To give you some perspective, look closely and you can barely see my toes!

I tried so many different digestive enzymes and probiotics and nothing helped. Then I started eating pickled red cabbage and I could not believe how it changed my gut. Everyone's body is different, but this has become one of my favorite meals because it supports both my gut and my skin with no supplements, just real food.

A little reminder...

Strong, healthy, glowing skin is not due to one "miracle" ingredient or skincare product. It results from consistently supplying nutrients internally and externally. While it's not a quick fix, you might start to notice less inflammation, clearer, brighter, glowing skin. I hope you enjoy the journey!
